I. Pre-Startup Inspection and Preparations
The reactor vessel should be clean and tidy, with all accessories complete and in good condition.
Pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, temperature gauges, safety valves, other valves, and steam traps on the vessel must be sensitive, accurate, and have valid calibration marks.
Safety protection, ventilation, and explosion-proof devices should be intact and reliable.
The oil level in the gear reducer and all other specified locations should be normal.
The packing seal for the agitator shaft should be tightened to an appropriate degree with no leakage.
Manually rotate (or jog) the agitator shaft to check for smooth operation. Pay attention to whether the agitator touches the temperature thermometer sleeve.
Check if the interior of the vessel is clean and free from any blistering or damage to the glass lining (applicable only to glass-lined reactors).
II. Startup and Operation
After starting the motor, check the following:
Check that the motor rotation direction is clockwise. Reverse rotation of the agitator is strictly prohibited (applicable only during initial installation or after wiring repair during trial runs).
After starting under no load, check for any abnormal noise from the rotating parts.
Check if the current is within the rated range and if the motor is making any unusual sounds.
During operation, monitor all sealing points for any leaks.
For glass-lined reactors, strictly avoid sudden and extreme temperature changes. The cold shock should be less than 110°C, and the thermal shock should be less than 120°C.
If the discharge outlet of a glass-lined reactor becomes blocked, use a non-metallic rod to clear it gently. The use of metal tools for scraping is prohibited.
Strictly control the internal pressure and temperature of the vessel. Do not exceed the specified temperature and pressure limits.
III. Shutdown
First, turn off the power supply. Then, check that all valves are in their appropriate positions.
IV. Maintenance
Check all components of the drive system and sealing devices for any looseness.
Listen for any abnormal noises during operation.
Inspect lubrication points and add lubricating oil as scheduled.
Check the sealing condition of the stuffing box and the operation of the cooling system (including whether the cooling water flows freely and if the outlet water temperature meets specifications).
Verify that all operational meters and accessories are functioning normally.
Never tighten any pressurized components while the vessel is under pressure.
