In recent years, ecological and environmental issues have not been effectively addressed. With the development of the industrial sector, the requirements for industrial water use have become increasingly stringent. Many processes in industrial production require the use of water, and the quality standards for this water are often higher than those for regular tap water. This has given rise to the industrial water treatment industry. Industrial reverse osmosis water purification equipment can produce pure water systems specifically used in fields such as microbiology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and medical device cleaning, gaining growing recognition from more and more consumers. However, many users have a weak awareness of the maintenance of industrial reverse osmosis water purification equipment, leading to many unnecessary losses during later usage. Reverse osmosis pure water treatment systems generally include a pretreatment system, reverse osmosis unit, post-treatment system, cleaning system, and electrical control system. Jinzong Enterprise reminds you to keep the following maintenance tips in mind!
I. Timely Replacement of Consumables in the Pretreatment Section
Detailed Classification of the Pretreatment System for Industrial Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Equipment:
Multi-media Filter: Primarily removes suspended solids, colloids, sediment, clay, decaying organic matter, fine particles, and other impurities from water. It can reduce water turbidity, achieve clarification, and protect the RO membrane from damage.
Activated Carbon Filter: Mainly utilizes the large number of hydroxyl and alkyl groups on the surface of activated carbon to chemically adsorb various substances. It removes odors, organic compounds, colloids, iron, and residual chlorine from water, thereby reducing turbidity and cloudiness and minimizing contamination of the reverse osmosis system as much as possible.
Water Softener: Uses sodium ions in the ion exchange resin to exchange with scale-forming ions in the water, reducing water hardness. It is regenerated using water softener salt, also known as ion exchange resin regenerant.
Precision Filter: Typically uses a 5-micron PP filter cartridge. Its main purpose is to remove particles larger than 5 microns that were not completely eliminated in the previous treatment steps, and to capture any filter media that may have carried over from the first three filtration stages, thereby protecting the RO membrane and extending its service life. Whether the filter cartridge can meet normal usage conditions will affect the normal operation of the membrane. Generally, the filter cartridge should be replaced every 3-4 months.
II. Avoid Direct Sunlight
Regardless of the type of water purification system, it is important to avoid direct sunlight during use, as sunlight can promote the growth of blue-green algae. Proper protection of industrial reverse osmosis water purification equipment is essential. If it must be placed in an area not exposed to sunlight, it is advisable to install a sunshade cover or barrier around the equipment to prevent algae growth.
III. Avoid Heat Sources
If industrial reverse osmosis water purification equipment is placed too close to a water heater, prolonged exposure to heat can shorten the lifespan of its plastic components.
IV. Reverse Osmosis System Maintenance
Conduct daily water quality testing and record equipment operating parameters. Address any abnormalities promptly. Regularly test and document key parameters such as pure water conductivity, pressure at various points, and inlet/outlet flow rates.
Periodically add regenerant to the salt tank. Set the regeneration time based on actual conditions and water production volume, typically once every 3–4 days.
Replace security filter cartridges in a timely manner (generally every 3–6 months).
Regularly wipe down the machine to keep the equipment clean.
Frequently check pipelines for leaks and address them immediately.
Ensure a stable supply of water and power to the equipment. In case of unexpected power or water outages, readjust the equipment settings, particularly the regeneration time after a power failure. Unauthorized personnel should not touch buttons in the electrical control section or valves in the pipeline system to prevent operational errors that may disrupt normal equipment function.
V. Emergency Measures
In the event of a power outage or failure of key components such as the main pump or membrane, which prevents the production of pure water, you may open the softened water valve to continue supplying softened water and ensure the normal operation of downstream equipment. This measure should be implemented based on the actual requirements of the water-using equipment.
If the equipment is leaking severely, immediately shut off the water supply valve, cut off the power, and notify the service provider for assistance.
During water production, if the pressure gauge after the membrane shows a reading exceeding 1.5 MPa, the conductivity exceeds 15 μS/cm, or the produced water quality exceeds the standard range, promptly replace consumables such as resin, membrane, and activated carbon.
