Maintenance and Operating Procedures for Vacuum Homogenizing Emulsifier

Today, Jinzong Enterprise, with over 20 years of experience in the research, development, and production of vacuum homogenizing emulsifiers, will introduce the maintenance and operating procedures for this equipment.

  1. Before starting the vacuum homogenizing emulsifier, connect the cooling water for the mechanical seal. When shutting down, turn off the machine first before disconnecting the cooling water. Tap water is suitable for cooling, with a pressure of ≤0.2 MPa. Material must enter the working chamber before starting the machine, and ensure the machine does not run without material to prevent dry running, which may overheat and damage the mechanical seal or shorten its service life. The cooling water inlet/outlet connectors are equipped with hoses with an inner diameter of 5 mm.

  2. After confirming that the cooling water for the mechanical seal is connected, start the motor. Ensure the motor rotation direction matches the rotation indicator on the main shaft before operation. Reverse rotation is strictly prohibited!

  3. When using the dispersing, emulsifying, and homogenizing machine, liquid material must be continuously fed or maintained at a certain level in the container. Avoid running the machine empty to prevent material from overheating or solidifying inside the working chamber, which could damage the equipment. Dry running is strictly prohibited!

  4. For TRL1 inline equipment, material is typically fed by gravity from a higher position. Feeding must be continuous to maintain good material flow. For materials with poor fluidity (viscosity ≥4000 cP), the SRH inline equipment inlet should be equipped with a transfer pump, with a pump pressure of 0.3 MPa. The pump (e.g., a colloidal pump or rotary lobe pump) should have a flow rate matching the flow range of the selected inline emulsifier (greater than the minimum flow value and less than the maximum flow value).

  5. Do not allow metal debris or hard, difficult-to-break foreign objects to enter the working chamber, as this may cause severe damage to the stator, rotor, and equipment.

  6. If abnormal noises or other malfunctions occur during the operation of the nano emulsifier, stop the machine immediately for inspection and resume operation only after troubleshooting. After shutdown, clean the working chamber, stator, and rotor thoroughly.

  7. If the working chamber is equipped with an insulation layer for heating or cooling the material, connect the cooling fluid or thermal oil before starting the machine. The pressure in the insulation jacket should be ≤0.2 MPa. For temperature-sensitive materials (e.g., asphalt), heat or cool to the required operating temperature, manually rotate the shaft, and then start the machine.

  8. When using the colloidal emulsifier in flammable or explosive environments, select a motor with the appropriate explosion-proof rating.

  9. After production, clean the equipment thoroughly to maintain the efficiency of the stator and rotor and protect the mechanical seal. If necessary, install a cleaning circulation system nearby.

  10. Depending on the medium used, clean the inlet/outlet filters regularly to prevent reduced feeding capacity and production efficiency. Material entering the working chamber must be fluid; dry powder or lumpy material is not allowed, as it may cause machine blockage and damage.

  11. For three-stage inline emulsifiers, regularly inspect the stator and rotor. Replace worn parts promptly to ensure effective dispersion and emulsification.

  12. If liquid leakage is observed at the shaft during operation, adjust the mechanical seal pressure after stopping the machine (detailed in the mechanical seal instructions).

  13. Establish corresponding safe operating procedures before using the equipment to ensure the safety of operators and the equipment. The electrical control system should include safety protection features, and the motor must be reliably grounded.
