The powdered activated carbon dosing system is a fully automated dosing unit that mixes powdered activated carbon with water in a specific ratio and feeds it into the water.

Its main workflow includes storage in a sealed silo, feeding by a feeder, conveying via a screw conveyor, dissolution and mixing in a stainless steel dissolution tank, and finally dosing to the injection point by a screw pump to achieve water treatment objectives.

The conveying module mainly consists of equipment such as the feeder, screw conveyor, and pneumatic butterfly valve. Function: To feed and convey the material to the dissolution tank.

The mixing module integrates equipment including the dissolution tank, centrifugal pump, agitator, dust collector, and pressure transmitter.

The Jinzong activated carbon dosing system primarily consists of the following components:

  1. Loading System
    The main function of the loading system is to transfer activated carbon from the warehouse or tanker truck into the storage silo of the system.
    It is generally categorized into two types based on specific conditions: bag loading system and tanker truck loading system.

  2. Storage System
    The storage system is used for storing powdered material. It must ensure continuous feeding during the dosing process and maintain the excellent physical properties of the powder.
    Considerations include keeping the powder dry during storage, dust removal, anti-bridging, and safety measures.

  3. Powder Conveying System
    The powder conveying system uses a metering screw to transfer activated carbon powder from the storage silo in measured amounts to the dissolution and preparation system.
    The selection of the entire system must be based on the design and construction process, choosing appropriate conveyors and suitable conveying configurations.
    Additionally, potential clogging issues during powder conveyance must be considered, along with anti-clogging measures. If adjusting the dosing amount of powdered activated carbon via a variable frequency drive motor is necessary, it is recommended to use a shaftless screw conveyor.

  1. Dissolution and Preparation System
    After calculation, a measured amount of water and powdered activated carbon, quantitatively delivered by the conveying system, are stirred and mixed in a specific container to prepare powdered activated carbon at the required concentration, generally 5%–10%.
    The dissolution and preparation system is categorized into three-tank and two-tank configurations.

  2. Liquid Dosing System
    The prepared solution is delivered to the injection point through the power system and pipeline system.
    The power system typically uses screw pumps, metering pumps, etc., while the pipeline system includes pipes, valves, and flow meters.

  3. Control System
    Used for the automated control of the entire system, categorized into semi-automatic and fully automatic control.
    The control cabinet is equipped with externally sourced PLCs, frequency converters, and accessories to enhance user experience and operational reliability.
