New Vistas for Guangdong Businesses, Northern Insights Fuel Growth

From October 12 to 17, the 2020 New Guangdong Business Leaders Advanced Training Program (Phase 1), organized by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, was successfully completed at Peking University. A total of 50 chairpersons and general managers from key nurtured private enterprises, "Specialized, Refined, Unique, and Innovative" SMEs, innovative industrial demonstration bases, high-growth SMEs, and other growing SMEs in Guangdong participated in the seven-day fully sponsored, full-time training.

Deputy Director Wu Hong of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, Deputy Director Cheng Yougen of the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprises, Deputy Investigator Jiang Chang'ai from the Informatization and Software Services Division of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, and Deputy Secretary-General Li Jintai of the Guangdong Provincial Association for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises Development, along with the enterprise participants, jointly took part in the training. Mr. Zhong Miaoqiang, General Manager of Guangdong Jinzong Mechanical Co., Ltd., was also honored to receive the training opportunity in this program.

In her address, Wu Hong expressed gratitude to Peking University and the Guangdong Provincial Association for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises Development for their efforts in organizing the program. She also thanked the entrepreneurs for taking time out of their busy schedules to participate in the training, especially under the current special circumstances. She encouraged the participants to maintain a positive attitude toward learning, apply the knowledge gained in their work, foster a learning culture within their organizations, and commit to lifelong growth, thereby embodying the spirit of New Guangdong Business Leaders in the new era. Moving forward, efforts will continue to strengthen collaboration among the government, universities, and organizing institutions to build a better and more advanced learning and exchange platform for the healthy development of small and medium enterprises in the province.

During the policy briefing session, Jiang Chang'ai provided an overview of the 5G development plan, while Cheng Yougen explained policies related to SMEs.

Through this training program, participants described it as a learning of the "Tao" and an intellectual feast. They praised the program for its distinguished faculty, cutting-edge curriculum, novel concepts, and profound inspiration, which greatly facilitates entrepreneurs in re-examining their own perspectives while continuously refining and adjusting them. In the new era, they are motivated to embrace new responsibilities and achievements! They also expressed that this study journey at Peking University marks a beginning, with participants encouraging one another, strengthening cooperation, and better assuming their role as the main drivers of high-quality development.

Through the short-term yet highly effective training at Peking University, the entrepreneur participants have gained a deeper understanding of the new trends and changes in the new era, broadened their horizons, and clarified their thinking. Internalizing these insights and translating them into action, as members of the New Guangdong Business Leaders, they are committed to innovating pragmatically, embracing their historical mission in the course of development, and striving to make greater contributions toward achieving the goals of the new era.
